There is a district in Milan that always reminded me to Gotham City, maybe because it's dominated by one of the most iconic buildings in the world. The Velasca Tower (Torre Velasca in Italian).
If you are architecture lovers probably you've already heard about this skyscraper, it was built between the 1955 and the 1957 in the city center just a few steps away from the Duomo. The BBPR architects for the design of the building took inspiration from the ancient medieval towers that stood in the old Milan's landscape. That's the reason of the unusual "mushroom" shape which makes the building immediately recognizable in city skyline.
Ok ok, this is a fashion blog so I think it's enough with architecture. Anyway if you're in Milan don't forget to have a walk nearby the tower.
